Our Team
Harold Johnson - Owner/Head Trainer
Harold first opened the shop in 2008 at a smaller location in Wood Village, Oregon. Originally, the gym opened as an athletic performance training facility, serving mostly high school and collegiate level athletes. But, around 2014, Harold set his sights on his own weight loss journey and lost over 80 pounds. From there, he made a lifelong commitment to clean eating and strength training to maintain this newly discovered health and well-being. Since then, he has shifted his focus from primarily helping athletes perform on the field, to giving everyday community members the Athletic Advantage to live more full and active lives.
Malcolm Johnson - Strength Training Specialist
Malcolm has been training clients at Harold’s Gym for over 10 years and is well versed in athletic performance and general resistance/strength training. As a former collegiate football player and former high school football coach, Malcolm is very familiar with training for athletic performance. At Harold’s Gym, he has worked with high school, collegiate, and professional level athletes, helping them to reach their peak performance. Malcolm is dedicated to teaching and educating his clients on proper technique and lifestyle changes needed to reach their fitness and health goals. More recently, Malcolm has been a key part in developing and growing the strength training program our clients use today.
Kennedy “KJ” Johnson - Athletic Performance and Plyometrics
KJ recently moved back to Oregon after living in Arizona for a few years. While living in Phoenix, he trained athletes in sports specific plyometrics and speed development. KJ is a former two-sport collegiate athlete and coached high school football. He has been training clients, mostly on the athletic performance side for about 5 years and has recently joined the team at Harold’s. KJ is aiming to help increase the impact Harold’s Gym has across the community while also re-energizing the athletic performance program.
